GUIDED TOUR in English – Cultural and didactic activity, the urban exploration of Old Hull aims to promote the exploration of local heritage as a historical source to introduce students to some dimensions of historical thinking. Mobilizing structural analysis of Lefebvre’s urban space and Eco’s architectural hermeneutics, this local tour of heritage sites will begin at the St-James Cemetery (near the Taché Pavilion of Université du Québec en Outaouais) and will trace the social and labor history of Quebec between 1800 and 1968. Walking tour of approximately 3,5 km.

The Library and Archives Canada Preservation Centre opened in June 1997 in Gatineau, Québec. Its facilities are dedicated to the preservation of the country’s documentary heritage. This centre of excellence provides collection storage areas with optimum environmental conditions, and laboratories equipped for preservation activities.
The ISHD cocktail will be held at the Library and Archives Preservation Centre. A guided tour of the facilities will be offered in English to interested people.

GUIDED TOUR in English – Interpretive walking trail | The hilly landscape around King Mountain is part of the Canadian Shield, one of the oldest and hardest rock formations in the world. King Mountain is on the southern edge of the Canadian Shield, which in this area is marked by the cliffs of the Eardley Escarpment (Source : National Capital Commission)
The First Geodetic Survey Station National Historic Site is on King Mountain at an elevation of 344 metres (1,129 feet). It was the first geodetic station, or triangulation point, established in Canada for land surveys.

GUIDED TOUR in English – Indigenous walks is a walk and talk through downtown Ottawa exploring landscape, architecture, art and monuments through an Indigenous perspective. On the land of the Anishinabe Peoples called Turtle Island the tours will guide participants on various walks through Ottawa’s public spaces including the Confederation Park and Major’s Hill Park.
